What changes in the conversion
- Cue numbers and timing lines are removed.
- Formatting tags (<i>, <b>, <font>) and position codes are removed.
- Each cue becomes one paragraph with a blank line between cues; line breaks inside a cue are kept.
- Plain text has no timings, so it cannot be converted back to SRT.
FAQ
Questions
Does it merge lines into sentences?
No. Each cue stays a paragraph and keeps its own line breaks, so the text matches the subtitles exactly.
Can I convert other formats to text?
Yes. WebVTT, ASS/SSA and MicroDVD files convert to plain text the same way; choose TXT in the converter.
